How accurate is the scoring?+
The tool uses Google's MediaPipe Face Landmarker (478 3D points + 52 blendshapes) — the same technology used in medical and research applications. Metrics are scored against ideals from published studies by Perrett, Rhodes, Pallett, Fink, and others. Scoring uses a strict Gaussian curve so that truly average faces score 4-5, not 7.
Why are male and female scores different?+
Research shows that male and female facial attractiveness are driven by different features. Male attractiveness emphasizes jaw definition, facial leanness, and structural dominance (Perrett, Fink). Female attractiveness emphasizes eye area, skin quality, lip fullness, and neoteny (Rhodes, Russell). The tool uses gender-specific weights and ideals reflecting this research.

Each metric is tagged with an improvability category: grooming (60% achievable — skincare, brow shaping, body fat), soft tissue (35% — lip care, under-eye treatment), behavioral (45% — smile training, symmetry habits), or structural (15% — mostly fixed). The biggest ROI for most people is reducing body fat to reveal bone structure, followed by a good skincare routine.
Do I need a side profile photo?+
Front-only works, but adding a side profile unlocks 6 bonus metrics (cervicomental angle, nasal projection, E-line, lip projection, forehead slope, nasolabial angle) that are impossible to measure from the front.
